November 28, 200520 yr Note, I'm using the 0.9.8 version, Debian build.I downloaded one of the add-on scenery packs(e010n40). It was a .tar.gz archive, so I etracted it to /usr/games/FlightGear/Scenery. Now, I have the following directories in my ./Scenery dir: e010n40, Objects, Terrain, w130n30. I started Flightgear with fgfs --aircraft=c310 --airport=LJLJ --runway=1R . However, instead of starting on the Ljubljana-Brnik airport, I start on water. There's water all around, even when I climbed to 5000 feet I coultn't see any land. So I'm guessing I didn't install the scenery properly. What did I do wrong and how should it be done?
November 28, 200520 yr Hi,although it is possible to place scenery at different places I would recommend you as a beginner to use the default pathes:/YourFlightGear/data/scenery/..................../^^^^/....... !!!!You have the subfolders Terrain and Objects within this Scenery folder.1.Place all downloadable (terrain) scenery into "Terrain"Then you find there folders like e000n50, e000n40, ...and in these folders a lot of subfolders which carry files like *.btg *.btg.gz or *.stg.2.Place all downloadable (global) objects into "Objects"The link to the objects is http://fgfsdb.stockill.org/There was another post here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...8&topic_id=11283.The right parameters for running FlightGear are then--fg-root=/YourFlightGear/data --fg-scenery=/YourFlightGear/data/scenery RegardsGeorg EDDW
November 28, 200520 yr >/YourFlightGear/data/scenery>/..................../^^^^/....... !!!!Gah! Forget the "data". That's optional and useless.m.
November 28, 200520 yr my default path didn't include ./data . Besides that, I did everything as you told me to and it works now. Thanks a lot.
