November 30, 200520 yr >1.) How can I get the aircraft I start with loaded with more>than half of fuel?>2.) How do I change the VOR indicator to another airport?1) If I remember correctly, there's a weight and balance dialog available in the menu2) If the cockpit panel doesn't yet support the corresponding hotspots to dial in frequencies via the panel, you'll have to use the GUI radio dialog (CTRL & R) or simply set the frequencies at startup using something like --nav1=115.80
November 30, 200520 yr >1.) How can I get the aircraft I start with loaded with more>than half of fuel?Just checked it, the weight and balance dialog from the EQUIPMENT menu seems to be specific to certain aircraft, or maybe even specific to a certain FDM. So, in order to modify the corresponding values at runtime you will probably have to use the property browser and make the corresponding modifications directly there.2) The path to the radio dialog is: MENU -> EQUIPMENT -> RADIO SETTINGS
November 30, 200520 yr OK, I set the NAV 1 to the frequency of the airport I wanted(EGKK, 110.90 MHz), and the NAV indicator is still pointing in the same direction...
November 30, 200520 yr >OK, I set the NAV 1 to the frequency of the airport I>wanted(EGKK, 110.90 MHz), and the NAV indicator is still>pointing in the same direction...Well, generally it is a very good idea to provide a maximum amount of relevant information when asking other people for help, think about what kind of information you would need in order to be able to help other people. Likewise, it is strongly recommended to provide information about your setup (hardware & software) as well as any configuration settings and other customizations. So far, you have unfortunately not yet provided much information, for example what aircraft are you using? Is it any of the standard aircraft, included in the release base package, or is it any other non-standard aircraft? Possibly even custom? If it is an aircraft from flightgear.org, what's the development status (not all aircraft can be considered to be entirely functional)? Then, what panel or rather instrument are you referring to? Furthermore, are you sure you are reading the correct instrument? Most instruments are specific to certain types of navaids, also most instruments panels allow users to select the source of the radio signal, so that multiple signal sources can be used with a single instrument. Also, if you are not familiar with aircraft radio navigation equipment in general, you may experience perfectly normal behaviour. For example, for any VOR indicator the behaviour you describe can be entirely normal, because depending on the aircraft's position relative to the navaid the CDI might only show a full scale deflection to the right or left. Thus, you would have to use the OBS (Omni Bearing Selector) in order to dial in a certain radial so that it can be displayed on the VOR (within 10 degrees of deviation). Only an RMI (in VOR mode) or a HSI would show bearing information for a VOR regardless of the OBS settings. Also, some stations are occassionally only available at altitude-usually depending on the distance to the navaid. You see, there are many possible sources for your particular problem, additionally you didn't tell us where you dialed in the NAV1 frequency (possibly standby?) - are you sure that you are receiving the station? If you are sure you are using a fully functional aircraft (panel) with a properly set up radio navigation equipment, you should be able to get the morse ID from the navaid, either by unmuting the nav1 signal or by going to the propery browser where you may find all relevant information in textual format under /instrumentation/nav[0]/... Also, if that particular station has a co-located DME you should also get the slant range to the station on the DME display if you are receiving it.Finally, in some cases there is also the possibility that people may want to use airports or navaids that are not yet supported in FlightGear because they may not yet be present in the corresponding database (which is also used by X-Plane). However, I quickly checked FlightGear's database and for the airport "EGKK" it shows:12 51.152672 -000.192142 0 11090 0.000 IGG EGKK 08R DME12 51.152672 -000.192142 0 11090 0.000 IWW EGKK 26L DME4 51.151667 -000.165000 0 11090 77.563 IGG EGKK 08R LLZ4 51.144722 -000.214444 0 11090 257.417 IWW EGKK 26L LLZ6 51.145150 -000.202058 196 11090 300077.448 --- EGKK 08R GS6 51.148822 -000.175897 196 11090 300257.430 --- EGKK 26L GSWhich would seem as if it should work
December 1, 200520 yr >Only an RMI (in VOR mode) or a HSI would show bearing>information for a VOR regardless of the OBS settings. That's not correctly phrased, I meant to say the (CDI of the) HSI will only show valid bearing information regardless of the OBS setting if you are tuned in to a ILS/LLZ signal.
December 2, 200520 yr >english please :-kewlWell, you didn't yet provide any additional information, even though you were asked to do so, so it would be kind of pointless to keep guessing what exactly you might be doing wrong. If you want to use FlightGear's radio navigation equipment but are not yet familiar with basic radio navigation principles, you may want to read up on this very topic, there are thousands of flight simulator related tutorials about this stuff, the most prominently mentioned source is probably: http://www.navfltsm.addr.comOn the other hand, personally I would not start learning the VOR, if you merely want to have a directional indication, the best and easiest instrument would certainly be the RMI, where the only things you will have to set up is a) the correct nav frequency and :( the proper mode (VOR vs ADF).Also, you didn't yet tell us what aircraft you are using, depending on whether your particular aircraft panel has already an RMI mounted or not, you may want to consider taking an RMI from the base package and mounting it manually to your panel. However, there are various aircraft that come already with a basic pre-installed RMI.
