January 16, 200620 yr In cockpit view using 2d panel I can't see my frame rate..when switching to external view I can see it. But when viewing same aircraft with 3d panel I can see the entire HUD but with a 2d Panel the Panel covers all HUD info at bottom of screen. I noticed a big difference in frame rates between cockpit view & external view using 3d Panel. Is there a way I can view my frame rate while in cockpit view with 2d panel? I tried setting frame rate on using 'view' 'rendering options' but was of no help. Thanking you in advance for any help you may be able to provide me.Bert
January 17, 200620 yr Hi,do you have a *newer* release of FlightGear?THEN you simply select from the Menu -> "View" -> check "Show frame rate"It is displayed in the lower right corner*OTHERWISE* (*older* FG version) you have to look at the frame-rate property:Menu: -> "File" -> "Browse Internal Properties" -> "FG Properties" -> scroll to "Sim/" -> scroll to "frame-rate[0] = '..' (int)"Georg EDDW

(int)">>Georg EDDWThank you for your reply. I have the Newer Version and yes, I checked Menu -> "View" -> check "Show>frame rate" but it does not appear at the lower right hand corner. In fact nothing shows of the HUD display below the 2d panel when using'CESSNA 172 SKYHAWK (1981 MODEL) 2D PANEL..I can see nothing below the 2d Panel. The Panel somehow is blocking my view of the lower right hand corner where the Frame Rate should appear...of course if I change to the external view I can see the Frame Rate in the lower right hand corner...as I said before the panel also blocks all of the HUD display below the 2d Panel.
January 17, 200620 yr Hi,I will test that later with the newest CVS version. But the property info *will* inform you - did you try???RegardsGeorg EDDW
January 17, 200620 yr Hi,I have to addJust tested it with Cessna 172 2 D panel andFG 0.9.9 - no fps info (as you claim)CVS FG newest version - all ok (fps info right lower corner)The fps info output has been changed since FG 0.9.9 version to a very small window you can place with the mouse everywhere. So you have to wait since the new FG version 1.0.0 is promised by "the chief" Curtis for the beginning of this year, should be very soon as discussed last year on the FG devel list.Until then, use the property option :-)RegardsGeorg EDDW
January 17, 200620 yr Hi, Thank you again for your help. I'm afraid I will have to wait until version 1. arrives as I'm not skilled enough to know how to change it using the Property Option or Command Line.RegardsBert
January 17, 200620 yr Hi, I can now see my frame rate by using Menu: -> "File" -> "Browse Internal Properties" -> "FG Properties" -> scroll to "Sim/" -> scroll to "frame-rate<0> = '..' (int)" Thank you so much..I see now my frame rate is 31 while in the #### pit view and 55 while in any external view...are those good enough numbers to enjoy FGFS? Maybe there are other aircraft that would give me better frame rates?Regards,Bert
