Scenery installed but not available

Featured Replies

I installed the FlightGear-Scenery for the area around Chicago but when I want to start off airport KORD (or it's the same with New Orleans) I find the aircraft standing somewhere in the sea with no land around!? Have I made a mistake? What can I do? Please help me! Thanks!

Hi,it is not clear whether you installed the scenery into the wrong folder or the parameters are wrong you give FlightGear when starting. There are many ways to install the scenery but for a beginner I always give the following adviceTHIS IS IMPORTANT NOW TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMTerrain (that is what you download from the FlightGear site, ie graphical scenery interface):[YourFlightGear]/data/scenery/Terrain/....THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT TO ADD MODELS OR OBJECTS AT A LATER TIMEObjects (from Jon Stockills site)[YourFlightGear]/data/scenery/Objects/...YOUR MINIMAL START PARAMETERS SHOULD BE--fg-root=/[YourFlightGear]/data --fg-scenery=/[YourFlightGear]/data/sceneryIF YOU USE FGWizard under Windows you have to set the pathes at the first page. Keep attention to set the pathes with the slash as above ('/') and not the backslash as in Windows ('').Hope that helpsRegardsGeorg EDDW

Just to correct what is displayed wrong:...YOUR MINIMAL START PARAMETERS SHOULD BETHIS IS DISPLAYED WRONG--fg-root=//data --fg-scenery=//data/sceneryI WRITE IT IN ANOTHER FORM--fg--root=(YourFlightGear)/data --fg-scenery=(YourFlightGear)/data/sceneryGeorg
