laptop keyboard prob?

Hi all, a total newb to Flightgear (crossing over from MS FS 2002). Have tried to start using the simplest possible configuration, and all seems to work, except: trim elevator on the right responds well to keyboard or mouse; the one on the left does not. I cannot make both work together with one command. I am working with a laptop, with numlock key pressed, so as to emulate a numeric pad. Anyone seen this behavior?Thanks in advance,Teaks
