March 5, 200620 yr Hi all, linux newb here, but think I've covered everything. I have compiled the simgear, meta, plib, freeglut, and openal sources ok. When I ./config flightgear I get an error towards the end that I must install the simgear libraries. Here is snippet showing it.checking for library containing ceil... none requiredchecking for library containing dlclose... -ldlchecking for library containing XCreateWindow... nochecking for library containing XShmCreateImage... nochecking for library containing XGetExtensionVersion... nochecking for library containing IceOpenConnection... nochecking for library containing SmcOpenConnection... nochecking for library containing XtMalloc... nochecking for library containing XmuLookupStandardColormap... nochecking for library containing glNewList... -lGLchecking for library containing gluLookAt... -lGLUchecking for library containing glutGetModifiers... -lglutchecking for library containing alGenBuffers... -lopenalchecking for library containing alutInit... nochecking how to run the C++ preprocessor... g++ -Echecking plib/ul.h usability... yeschecking plib/ul.h presence... yeschecking for plib/ul.h... yeschecking for plib 1.8.4 or newer... yeschecking simgear/version.h usability... nochecking simgear/version.h presence... nochecking for simgear/version.h... noNear as I can tell, those items are part of openAL and it has been installed succesfully. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks very much in advanceJasonAMD86_64 32001GB RAMDual boot winXP/openSuse10
