Roll command

Featured Replies

Hello, Within the framework of my aeronautical studies, I have to study the roll command chain by Flight Management System for a CN 235 100 M aircraft. So that's why I have two majors questions: does somebody know if it is possible for me to act only on the roll command (LNAV) and plug in on FlightGear? Does the CN 235 100 M aircraft already exist on FlightGear? Thanks for your answers,Bye

FlightGear exposes the majority of relevant runtime variables using a so called "property tree". You can tell FlightGear to make this property tree available via network, so that you can use an external application to read and write properties (=variables) at custom intervals.Recently, there were similar topics discussed here, even though not all of the info may be directly applicable for you, I encourage you to check out the mentioned threads as they also contain hints for further references:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...=1411&mode=fullhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...=1129&mode=fullhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...=1086&mode=full>Does the CN 235 100 M aircraft already exist on FlightGear?I don't think so, depending on the level of fidelity you require, you could either simply create a flight model using a FDM engine such as JSBSim or YaSim and then use an arbitrary existing 3D model or really go the long way and use a fully animated 3D model together with realistic FDM.There are various approaches to creating a FDM (flight dynamics model) in FlightGear, the two most popular ones are JSBSim and YaSim, check out the Docs folder under $FG_ROOT/Docs and the files README.JSBsim and README.yasimApart from that you do not even have to use any of the existing FDM engines, as you can easily create your own (possibly proprietary) FDM engine and have it provide all relevant data for FlightGear via a network connection. Also, please note that this forum is not the official means of providing support for FlightGear-usually all support issues should be discussed on the FlightGear mailing lists: http://www.flightgear.org/mail.htmlGiven the nature of your enquiry, I would recommend to subscribe to the Developer's mailing list. In case you should decide to actually create a full 3D model, there seems to be sufficient data available on the web:http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/cn235mp/http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/wor.../cn-235-mpa.htmhttp://www.dprin.go.id/links/pt_iptn/235-ti.htmhttp://www.airpower.at/flugzeuge/cn235.htmhttp://www.luftfahrtmuseum.com/htmi/itk/c6.htmhttp://www.luftfahrtmuseum.com/htmd/dtf/cn235.htmhttp://www.naval-technology.com/projects/c...p/cn235mp1.htmlhttp://www.naval-technology.com/projects/c...p/cn235mp2.htmlhttp://www.naval-technology.com/projects/c...p/cn235mp6.html
