Im a :-newbieFirst, all downloaded aircraft archives need to be extracted, this will then result in a directory structure that you need to place into FlightGear's base package Aircraft folder (sub folder "data") which is commonly referred to as $FG_ROOT, as it is the root folder for all base package data. So, "installing" additional base package data entails only two things: 1) find and browse to the folder where you installed FlightGear 2) uncompress the files to the proper directories. However, for some mac users this seems to be quite an obstacle, the MacFlightGear at http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=431588 has a thread about how to do this if you don't know how to browse your computer's file system:http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thr...forum_id=431588"Control+click on the FlightGear icon, choose "Show Package Contents", navigate to Contents>Resources>data>Aircraft This is where you must install your aircraft.
