Im a :-newbieFirst, all downloaded aircraft archives need to be extracted, this will then result in a directory structure that you need to place into FlightGear's base package Aircraft folder (sub folder "data") which is commonly referred to as $FG_ROOT, as it is the root folder for all base package data.
