March 27, 200620 yr As I'm fairly new to flightgear, I downloaded the new planes the other day and they do not work on FG 0.9.9 and am I correct in assuming the I need the newest version of FG for these to work? If so, when is the windows package going to be updated? Thanks for any help. JR

The answers to your questions depend on various factors, as you didn't provide much information, we can only guess. However, there are indeed some incompatibilities related to JSBsim aircraft due to the recent change in the file format for JSBsim 2.0So, if you are in fact referring to JSBsim aircraft, then these problems are likely to be related to the new JSBsim version that is going to be used in the upcoming FG version. While some of the aircraft available for download at www.flightgear.org have not yet been ported over to the new JSBsim 2.0 format (and should thus actually work with previous FG versions), others are already ported and thus won't work with any previous FG versions.> If so, when is the windows package going to be updated? > Thanks for any help. There is currently not yet a new release available, FlightGear 0.9.10 is expected to be released within the next 4-6 weeks, however there is a pre-release available at: ftp://ftp.ihg.uni-duisburg.de/FlightGear/...0.9.10-pre2.exeThis file is NOT yet the official release, rather it is meant to enable users to contribute to the project by checking out the new functionality. So, if you experience ANY problems, you are encouraged to get back to the developers (using the mailing list, see: http://www.flightgear.org/mail.html ) in order to provide the relevant information required to address any issues. If you should in fact face any serious issues, you may find the following link helpful as it lays out the sort of information that is usually required in order to be able to trouble shoot FlightGear related problems:http://www.seedwiki.com/wiki/flight_gear/h...you?wpid=247004
