I get the exact same message on FreeBSD 5.4. Flightgear was installed via ports. What is the output when you guys do the following?export LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo

All these guys are trying to run FG without direct rendering (see top of glxinfo ). They should install their video hardware device drivers.

They where installed on mine, although not properly as a glxinfo revealed direct rendering: no.The solution for me was to exit X and reinstall my nvidia drivers.
