Hi everyone, I really don't know much about computers so make this simple please. I'm running flightgear v. 9.10, i have every aircraft downloaded from the flightgear website, and a lot of my planes will shut down at startup because of insufficent trim for approach, cfg files, failed to find aircraft and or engine models.I tried many times, (with 7-zip) to put the newest models of the aircraft, (tupolev 154, harrier, md-11, boeing 707, manta) but during the extract,7zip gives me a message saying ERROR: can not delete output file C:gamesflightgeardataaircrafttu154thumbnail.jpg or any other file name i try to overwrite. Is there any way that i can delete the aircraft from the folder? It won't let me. if you need any more information, just tell me. but i really need the help

The windows explorer should also be available from the start menu itself, also you should find plenty of help if you open help and search for "explorer".Concerning the errors you are getting when trying to overwrite files within the base package: you need to make sure that you have the permissions required to access/delete files on that file system, as well ensure that the folders and files aren't write-protected (which may be the case by default if you installed FlightGear from a CD/DVD). You should also be able to find relevant information if you check out the Windows Help facility.Given that you apparently downloaded a whole number of aircraft, you may however find it more intuitive to simply extract a fresh base package to a new folder, and point your FlightGear installation to a new FG_ROOT, that way you won't have to delete anything but get to use a fresh base package anyway.

i'll try the last thing you mentioned. never thought of that, thanks.
