July 4, 200619 yr I saw the "places to fly" section of the FG website, but wonder if there are any other nice places to fly. After flying around the SF bay area I expected other places to have a downtown area or bridges and so forth. I was a little disappointed taking off from Nellis AFB and not seeing anything on the Vegas strip, and when I took off from my old stomping ground in Indianapolis and didn't see anything other than random objects. I'd just like to know if there are any areas other than SF that have a decent amount of objects.

Thus, what you are seeing outside of such areas as KSFO, is really "basic" (generic ground textures, based on vmap0 data). However, there are in fact some places that look similar or better than KSFO, for example-some time ago users posted really nice scenery screenshots of France and Germany. So, you may want to check out the FlightGear mailing list archives, or even ask your question there in order to be pointed to flyable (VFR) places within your area of interest. Also, if you are interested in creating/enhancing scenery yourself, make sure to look into the "FlightGear Scenery Designer".
July 17, 200619 yr You may visit Los Angeles (KLAX) and Paris (LFPO). For this, you must download scenery objects for these areas ( w120n30 and e000n40 ) from http://fgfsdb.stockill.org
