GlobalObjects.tgz SharedModels.tgzI've uncompressed both with fileroller and move the contents of the GlobalObjects.tgz to the /usr/share/games/FlightGear/data/Scenery/Objects/ directory overwriting everything in there and the contents of SharedModels.tgz to the directory /usr/share/games/FlightGear/data/Models/fgfsdb/ overwriting everything there too.So this is problem N
August 11, 200619 yr Sorry, I don't know the solution to your problem. But I can suggest a way to get a response faster:1. Subscribe to the Flightgear-Users mailing list2. Send an email to the list with the same info you post above. You'll be much more likely to get ahold of one of the developers that way.
August 11, 200619 yr Thank you very much for the tip, I'll do it, and if I get a response I'll post it here too.
September 26, 200619 yr not sure if this problem still persists, however if it does you may want to check our X11/OpenGL setup to ensure that it is working properly. Also, the problem you are describing may in fact occur when libraries don't match-which can happen if you install binaries, thus you might also want to try installing from source, which really isn't all that complicated and ultimately provides you with a binary specifically built for your very machine.Apart from that, kudos to you: excellent job for apparently not only checking the wiki, but also for actually providing most of the information you were asked for!!
