2 questions: Save/Load and A320

Featured Replies

Hello,There are two new questions.1. Is save/Load game works?Recently I've saved flight (Citation Bravo, Paris to Toulouse IFR flight), but when I've tried to load it (First starting with the same plane from the same airport/runway), I found, that the plane is in the sky, and it's seems in correct place, but it ins't moving, even speed indicator shows me something about 950 knots :). Throttle is on, yoke is moving. Landing gear is on, and I can't off it. Also, autopilot/radio settings seems to be on default positions. What do I do wrong? ;)2. Another question is about A320 plane. I've tried to install it, and evel all other crafts were installed successfully, I can't see A320 visual shape, cockpit, etc. I see only strange blue "plane" little behind cockpit view :)It's seems that corresponding 3D object is missing. Am I do something wrong again, or this plane really hasn't 3D object yet? Could someone check, does current A320 package on the http://www.flightgear.org/Downloads/aircraft/index.shtml works, or it is trouble with my installation? ;)

This is indeed one area in FlightGear were the extremely powerful property tree approach causes some problems, because aircraft developers are free to use whatever properties they may come up with, for arbitrary purposes-so that the core engine simply isn't aware of the requirements for certain properties-so without telling FlightGear that certain properties need to be saved or excluded from being saved or saved with a different state value, things may look okay while they really aren't.Normally, it would be appropriate to have a custom MANDATORY section for each aircraft *-set.xml file where re/init/cleanup stuff has to be done by the aircraft developer (who should best know about the aircraft's requirements), in order to ensure that features such as loading/saving flights work as expected and reliably for ALL functionality of an aircraft.Something like this could be easily implemented by binding aircraft-specific nasal functions to global properties that are set upon certain FG events (i.e. loading/reloading aircraft, saving/loading flights).
