Blue-Green Tint, Terrible Performance problem

Featured Replies

I'm hoping somebody might have run into this problem and be able to help me. I'm trying to search for previous posts on it but I'm not even sure how to describe it, but here's a try.I had FG running great on my laptop, a Dell Latitude C610 running W2K. FG v0.9.10.I downloaded a bunch of aircraft and scenery, nothing crazy, all from the flightgear.org site. Next thing I know, the startup screen (splash screen showing FG graphic) has this blue-green tint to it. When the game begins, it's got the same blue-green tint... as if all the other colors were washed out. This is not nighttime, I have set the time for day, night, dusk, dawn, etc... this is something different. As mentioned the simulator was working properly before so I know what it's "supposed" to look like.Worst part, this is accompanied by absolutely horrible performance. Absolutely unusable even if you could deal with the bad washed out visuals. Even clicking on the menu to quit takes maybe 20 seconds for the menu to come up for example. Again, I know my machine is capable of running this sim adequately because it used to.I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled a clean copy of FG (without all the add-on aircraft and scenery) but the problem persists. I am guessing it has something to do with my video driver or something but no real idea. Also, to be even more helpful, I can't rule out that maybe I installed something else that's caused a side effect here. I just am not certain. Any ideas? I'd love to get this working again!

I think you need to run FG with 32 bit color. ( --bpp=32 )
