January 2, 200719 yr Hello Danny,After download, you have to INSTALL new scenery.1- Start menu/All programs/FlightGear, open "Install & Uninstall Scenery".Check if "Select Scenery Source" is OK, depending where you save the download files.Check "Select Install Destination". Must end by "scenery" and not "data/Scenery" (For windows, "C:Program FilesFlightGearscenery")Select files to install and click "Install selected files".2- Run FlightGear programm. At "Select an aircraft" window, click "Prev" (previous). At "Select paths" window, check F_G SCENERY.You must have 2 lines ending by:..........dataScenery..........sceneryFor windows:C:Program FilesFlightGeardataSceneryC:Program FilesFlightGearsceneryIf the second line is not there, add it.3- On "Select a location" window, wait for airport load, then click "Refresh" and wait for airport reload. Each time you install new scenery, you have to refresh airport location. You are now ready to fly with new installed scenery. The downloaded scenery files can be stored everywhere. Once the scenery file is installed, the file can be moved or deleted. To save space on your computer:- Save download scenery files on CDs- Uninstall scenery you don't useIf you want to use again an uninstalled scenery, you can install it directly form the CD (adjust "Select Scenery Source").Pierre
January 3, 200719 yr Your welcome.I think your installation was OK but you missed the last step. You have to try the best 3D scenery for Flight Gear available at this site:http://helijah.free.fr/flightgear/flightgear.htmA great job.Good flightPierre
January 3, 200719 yr To see the maps in Atlas you first must create the maps with the "map" command:1- in the prompt, be inside the /flightgear/bin/win32 directory, then enter the command:c:program filesflightgearbinwin32>map --fg-root=c:progra~1flight~1data --atlas=c:progra~1flight~1dataatlas --headless --smooth-colorThis command will generate the maps with the default resolution. You can choose between many other options...see that typing:c:program filesflightgearbinwin32>map --helpGood Luck
