Folks,I've been succefully using a Simulink-based aircraft model (AeroSIM-based) to send visualization information to FlightGear for over a year now. As long as you are using the right IP addresses and have the matching FG version (versus the Aerosim-to-FG interface block) this works well either on the same PC or across a network connection. However, I would now like to do the opposite: send the object position/placement information I see in FG back to my Simulink model. Specifically, I want to send back the internal variable for ground altitude (/position/ground-elev-m[0]) so I can sync up the ground altitude currently being used in my AeroSIM model.Does anyone have any experience in trying to do this? Besides the ground altitude, there are other interesting things that could be done with an external I/F like this, in particular if the AI object positions could also be sent back to Simulink (which would allow implementation of target tracking algorithms for example).Any and all help/advice would be appreciated!-Jon
AVSIM is a free service to the flight simulation community. AVSIM is staffed completely by volunteers and all funds donated to AVSIM go directly back to supporting the community. Your donation here helps to pay our bandwidth costs, emergency funding, and other general costs that crop up from time to time. Thank you for your support!
