alpha channels

Using Paint Shop Pro 8, how can I put alpha channels on certain portions of my texture files?thx

Dig out the manual that came with the program or go to help and search for Alpha Channel.... It's kind of complicated in this program but it can be done.. Alternative is to make the alpha layer in PSP and copy it to a separate Graphic and combine the 2 with ImageTool or DXTbmp.Joe W

All you need to create alpha channels in a bitmap is Martin Wright's DXTBMP.I think this is a marvelous tool, and I have used it to create semitransparent windows and fully transparent blank areas on an image from a bitmap.You use it to produce DXT1 and DXT3 formats from bitmaps. If you are a painter this is a major tool for you. He has a website with a lot of stuff for a painter.

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 :) Such a GREAT program isn't it?
