Don't know if this is the right forum to post this, but seemed appropriate to me!I've got a number of repaints I'm working on, but I want to make sure that I get the colours absolutely spot-on! Does anybody know where I can get a listing to convert FS/BS references etc into RGB or CMYK codes? And a specific aircraft question - does anybody know what the FS colours are being used on the new F-117 Nighthawk gray scheme? Thanks, in anticipationAndyG

Well, one way to get RGB conversions for FS numbers is to try this website: http://www.jpsmodell.de/main_e.htmClick on the Cross-Color Guide on the left, select Federal Standard on the left.It will bring up a chart of FS colors (As well as modeling color numbers (Gunze Sanyo, Tamiya, Humbrol, Testors, etc.)) and a swatch. Take a screenshot, import it into your paint program, use the eyedropper, and take a sample of the RGB color from the webpage. Altenatively, download the HTML file and all the color images, set up your own temporary webpage on your computer, and run it all offline, or just open the appropriate FS number swatch in your paint program directly. In theory, those should be pretty close to the RGB values required for repaints.I usually just try to match by eye, though - you can finesse the color better that way, and adjust for any changes Flightsim makes when loading textures. That site is probably a good way to get a start point for color matching though - he seems to have done a pretty good job matching colors - at least on a calibrated monitor.Which brings up another point - how many people actually color-calibrate their monitor? (or do it correctly?) Who will know whether your color is correct or not? You could have it dead nuts on, and someone will complain about it. Scale Modeling is notorious for this - you could use the actual federal standard paint, and someone would say it is wrong. Come close and enjoy your work!Brian
