Last save PROBLEM

Featured Replies

Hallo I am Christopher from Greecenewbie to repaints and i need your help please;)I have just start to repaint the original FS9 LRJ45 at Aegean Airlines Virtual colours(There a real one also). What I'm dooing is the following.I'm taking the Lear_T.bmp from a repaint kit(FS9_BLANKS_LEARJET_45.ZIP FROM Rob Smith)and then converting the file with DTXBmp tool to 24bitBMPImage because otherwhise can't open it with Photoshop. Then converting again with Photoshop Image Ready to .psd to open it with Photoshop editor. Then after the job is finished I save the file as .bmp/windows/32bit and then again with DXTBmp tool save it as Extended Bitmap//Extended 32 bit 888-8.Now my problem,I just put the file at texture files(LRJ45)everything its ok.Then I open FS9 I am chossing the LRJ45 and what I see is the following, textures everything in place but the aircraft looks like a NIKEL thing there and I thing it reflecting everything.Something gooing wrong.I have to say that at my first attempt the aircraft was all wright but at last save move something goes "WHAT"???So thats my problem my friends.Christopher Barbas

Ok, I am having a little trouble figuring out your problem, but, I think you may have an alpha channel issue. If you are getting a very shiny and reflective texture then your alpha channel is too dark.Maybe post a shot showing the problem?Dan.

Dan thanks for your replay. Now I make experiments a little bit and I think there is not an Alpha channel with the image and I have to create it but I dont know how.In the "sh1" that I attach with,is the bmp as i load it for first in DXTBmp tool and I dont see the Alpha channel at the right over window as i must I think. Also when I was trying to export an Alpha channel from DXTBmp tool, there was only a whitte window at the right over corner. What do I have to do now?But it's very strange that with the same repaint steps, when i for the first time load the imagr to FS9 verything was ok!Copy from DXTBmp Help(DXT1///Loaded as RGB image with fully opaque Alpha channel)Christopher Barbas

Your in the right area. Look at the top and you will see the alpha channel button. Send that to your image editor and make a grey coating on the all white image and then save it. Come back to DXTbmp and then refresh the alpha channel, and save your entire image. Also remember that the darker you make the alpha channel the more shine you will have. Don't get carried away with that. When you are done and ready to save the image you need to go to 'save as' and save it as the same format as that which it was originaly when you opened it with DXTbmp. You can find that by looking at the top of the picture and it will have what it is when you first open it.

I folow the steps and the problem solved.Thank you Dan :)Christopher Barbas
