May 4, 200521 yr If there any thing free I can download to paint with instead of spending $700 on photoshop?
May 5, 200521 yr You could try either Pixia, Paint.Net or The Gimp :-coolPixia: http://park18.wakwak.com/~pixia/Paint.Net: http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/The Gimp: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/I'm not a Gimp fan, but I know some guys use it to do repaints.Regards,Stratobat

I installed The Gimp a little while back and gave it a try. For the amount of Tools and Functions, it's probably the best, but I personally didn't like it. When you start the program it opens up two windows. One window has the Functions and Tools in it, the other has just the Layer Palette. Then when you open a Bitmap another window opens up. So in all you have three windows floating around the Desktop just to do a repaint. To zoom in you have to press something like CTRL + + or something like that, zooming in with a Scoll Wheel didn't seem to work for me :-lukeI haven't tried Paint.Net, but it looks like there's a bug with the latest version (Have a look on their Forum), so I'd hold off until they fix that. One of the Developer's said he would create a new installer that incorporates the fix within a few days. You also need to have .Net Framework v1.1 installed on your machine. If you don't have it, don't worry, they've also created an installer that incorporates it into the install process to make it easy :-kewlOne of the guys that I design with put me onto Pixia about a year or two ago, it's not a bad program (The Free Bezier and Blur tools are very nice), but the Help documentation is pretty scarce. If you search through Google and the Pixia Forum there's some info on how to use the program. A few of the User's have also created personal pages with their own tutes and some plugin's they 've created for the program. One thing with Pixia is that it doesn't support 32 Bit images and can't open .PSD (Photoshop) and .PSP (Paint Shop Pro) files, but the interface is pretty straight forward :)Give them all a try... As you progress, you'll probably find yourself switching between the programs to use the different tools ;)Regards,Stratobat
