October 30, 200520 yr Greetings all.I know some will probably read this and laugh as they have seen my artwork posted already for various aircraft, however bear in mind that I am not that talented of a painter and most of my work is thanks to layered paint kits available that make my creativity much easier. That said, I am not good at all at doing default FS aircraft, however a VERY unique situation has arisen that calls for a unique paint. My college, Pueblo Community College, of Pueblo, CO, has just won a decision by City Council to start a flight program here. Non other than the FBO I am already taking flight lessons through will be doing the training.I will be promoting the program at career fairs by using my computer and flight simulator to let potential students take turns on the sim.I am requesting this very paint for the default C172. Anyone up to the challenge?Posted here are links to the pictures that I uploaded to my site:http://guildofdarkhaven.org/flying/images/...0Request/01.JPGhttp://guildofdarkhaven.org/flying/images/...0Request/02.JPGhttp://guildofdarkhaven.org/flying/images/...0Request/03.JPGhttp://guildofdarkhaven.org/flying/images/...0Request/04.JPGFYI That last picture is my sweetie as she prepared to take her introductory flight. Unfortunately she decided flying is not for her, but she now understands my addiction to flight :-)That makes this plane even more special. If anyone can do this repaint please let me know. I greatly appreciate it.<> To correct spelling.
November 3, 200520 yr No takers? **sniff**Okay well -- is there a layered paintkit available out there somewhere that someone possibly made for the default 172?
November 6, 200520 yr There is a "repaint kit" of sorts in the library, http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=40375.I'll give it a try in a couple days if you still want it Chris, but it may take a bit. :)-Jeremy BurchThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifHappy Flying!Pilot: November 123 on a very short final, understand I'm cleared to land ?Tower: Oh, who's talking ?Pilot: Me
November 6, 200520 yr Many thanks. I'll check that kit out. I did a search for "default paint kit" and came up with a gazillian default repaints themselves but never came across the kit LOL. So I really appreciate the link.
November 13, 200520 yr Ok, so that didn't go so well...It's been a hectic week so far, and I just cannot get anything to look right with that "kit".ANYONE with more skills than I wanna take a shot at this? -Jeremy BurchThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifHappy Flying!A pilot pulled out a .38 revolver and placed it on top of the instrument panel, then told the navigator "I use this on navigators who get me lost!"The navigator pulled out a .45 and placed it on his chart table. The pilot asked, "What's that for?""To be honest sir," the navigator replied, "I'll know we're lost before you will."
November 13, 200520 yr Agreed. I tried to do it meself with the kit and it dodn't work at all. When I saw "kit" I was thinking layered with shadows, etc. That's the one thing I have not mastered is shadowing, dird and rivits :-( Eventually I'll get there.I also happen to have the Flight1 C172R, but I'd rather have the default AC painted as the Flight1 version has the interior model all wrong (the panel is too high, so to see over it you have to raise your seat to the point where the tops of the doors block your side views). My cure was to convert the Default 172 to have the Flight1 sounds and dynamics. Now she works beautifully and is GREAT in the flight lessons. Just need to paint her with the photos above somehow and I am set :-)So if anyone can do this I'd be so greatful!!!! I can do her in the Flight1 kit, but as I said I can't use the Flight1 Model for VC flying with that "tunnel vision" bit.
