Captain Sims 757-200

Featured Replies

Hi I'm Dave Sweetman.A few peeps might recognise the name from a few repaints I have made for Captain Sims Legendary C-130 package. Well the Captain has been nice enough to give me an advance copy of the repaint kit for their new 757 series that is due to be released soon. I have finished my first repaint and I was just after a bit of feedback. As I knew the C-130 from my military career I can relate to it. The 757 is a different story. Here are a few screen shots. Please feel free to post comments no matter how harsh.:-) c32a43de.jpgc32a37kr.jpgc32a23rt.jpgc32a14pc.jpgMany thanksDax

Nice design what software did you use to do that?

I use Photoshop CS2 for all my repaints and DXTBmp to convert the images.

As usual, fine repaint. The only nit I will pick is that the lettering "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" appears a wee bit high. Judging from a photo in airliners.net, I think that the half-height of the lettering should be in line with the top of the main fuselage doors.

I think I may have made the lettering a bit too tall rather than high. I used the position of the forward door as a basis for the hight. It all needs revamping when they release the aircraft though. The repaint kit has a miss mash of one side Rolls Royce engine and the other as PW. I will also personalise the aircraft blanks and bungs with the US crest. Thanks Dax

>I think I may have made the lettering a bit too tall rather>than high. You're right of course. Uncharacteristically of me, I thought the word out in Spanish "alto" where it can be used for both "high" and "tall". A short circuit caused it to be typed out as "high" but pronounced as "tall".That's my story, and I'm sticking to it - until I come up with a better one.

Just uploaded to the AVSIM library.Made the sudgested changes. Gave it a wash. Shorted the wording on the side of the fuselage. Even put a -2 deg tilt on the Star and Stripes and reg number to straughten it up. Please note thier are two version of this repaint. I will release all my 757 repaints this way. Version 1 - For owners of Block A & B. It has no Virtual Cockpit. Version 2 - For Owners of Block B only. Virtual Cockpit enabled. Could an owner of Block B please inform me if all works correctly. I only purchased block A as my system will not handle the VC. Many thanks for any help. Dax
