Slewing aircraft through ABL programming

Recommended Posts

Guest aij8377

Hi,I'm trying to alter the position of an aircraft in FS2004 using Microsoft's Adventure Basic Language for the purpose of setting up a radar recovery after a general handling sortie. Rather than actually fly the aircraft to the start point, I would like to be able to alter the latitude and longitude, and altitude without the program pausing but cannot find anything in the FS2004 SDK documentation. Does anyone have any ideas as I'm completely stuck? Thanks in advance for any help - it's much appreciated.Andy.P.S. While I'm on, is there a more comprehensive guide to the FS2004 ABL SDK than the one you download from the Microsoft website?

Hi Andy,I know practically nothing about ABL, but I'm trying to learn by taking apart other people's adventures. By learning how they do it, I hope to write my own. The exact info that you are asking is a mystery to me but I had a thought:Are you slewing to begin a flight, or to alter position in the middle of one? If it is the former, perhaps you could fly the a/c to the start point and then save the flight. Later, when you launch the adventure, you will already be there.I hope this is helpful to you. Good luck!

Andy -FSUIPC has the means to position your aircraft easily. And it has numerous language facilities (ie C, C++, BASIC) as I recall. All you need to do is build a simple interface, connect to FSUIPC, and shove your positional info into it. I use FSUIPC to obtain information on a player's aircraft but it works both ways (especially for FS9).Senior Captain, Pier Glass Aviation
