AN-24RV -Starting her up???

Featured Replies

Hi all,I have installed the great package together with patch of the Antonov 24-RV by Dimitri Samborski and I would like to ask what is the way you are starting the engines. I am following the instructions as per the manual and also I have searched in here and found a post with even more details however when I hit the starter button nothing happens. However it starts all ok by CTRL-E....but that is not the way this baby should be started right??I believe it maybe something wrong or I am missing some switch somewhere....if this is not a bug or so....I am running on FS9....unpatched.So any help please appreciated...ThanksFlylux

Try to find the left/right switch: you have to set it to left position, and then start the appropiate engine (with all switches on of course). And the same for the right handside.

See attached picture and...1. Switch battery (A) on (up)2. Engine seletion switch (:( up (left turbina)3. Left engine control switch © up4. Push and hold starter (D) until lamp (E) comes up and goes out5. Engine seletion switch (:( down (right turbina)6. Left engine control switch (F) up7. Push and hold starter (D) until lamp (E) comes up and goes out8. Engine seletion switch (:( middle (neutral position)9. Switch generators (G, H) on and battery (A) off- Starter button (D) should be pushed and HOLD pushed until turbine starts!- Check fuel also :)Shutting down the engines can be done by turning off (down) the main engine switches (C, F).And an additional advice not related to engine start:When loading the aircraft open-close engineer panel (what we were speaking about) from the pilot seat. Then go to navigator seat and open-close all other panels. If you fail to initialize the panels this way those might appear later behind the main panels. That would be quite dangerous during flight. Also you might check my detailed AN24 navigation documentation. Current version can be downloaded from here:www.hrasko.com/gabor/srsz/AN24_RNAV_13102004.zipGabor

Dear Gabor,Thanks for your reply....I have followed your instructions which are the same as the tutorial I had but however no matter what in this manner the engines do not start. I tried uninstall and reinstall and still nothing....only CTRL-E will get them going. For sure this is a bug either on my end or in the package. I am running FS9 unpatched with a registered FSUIPC 3.4 and well I start with default cessna, shut down engine and proceed to choose the An24 and try to start it manually from there...but nothing....Please anymore help ....I must get these engines to start...Thanks

Hi,Let me know if it is still not working. Also define the AN24-RV version you are using (check my "standard" configuration published in this forum and also in my navigation document). Also define your operating system, patch level and Regional Settings parameters.Gabor

Hi Gabor,Thanks for your reply. I still cannot start the engines manually even after I followed the previous thread to make a key assignmnet in FS9.Well I am not sure of the information you require but I have the last package of AN24-RV with the patch downloaded on the 24th October. My system is Win2000 completely patched as i have automatic updates on and regional settings?? what are these exactly? Thanks once more.flylux

Flylux,Check configuration against the following list:http://www.avsim.ru/forum/index.php?&showtopic=10914&st=40Regional Setting in Windows is where you set language, keyboard type etc.My ICQ number is: 193-182-046, contact me directlyGabor

Hi Gabor and thanks once more...I will make an uninstall of what I have and go over the files in your thread, download them and install them one by one. I think this is the best way to get started and get this baby to work as it is supposed to be.I will then contact you again after this.Later.Regards.Flylux

Hi Gabor,I have searched for the files you mentioned on the other thread on avsim library but I cannot find any files with that same title as yours. Can you please confirm that the file names are correct or post them here again so that I will try for a new search.Regards,Flylux
