Cache Directory Error

Recommended Posts

Hi AllFor some time now I have been experiencing crashes of FS2004 with the message Cache Directory Error. I have no remote scenery cached and my scenery.cfg file appears to be all in order.I have done a complete re-install of Windows and Flight Simulator and have spent a lot of time flying problem routes (EGJJ-EGPD for example)adding one thing at a time in an attempt to track down the error.I have trawled the Internet looking for an answer, the only thing I came across was a guy who had the same problem, he thought was due to spyware. I have checked my system for syware and viruses.I find now that the common factor is that when the error occurs it is always with a PSS airplane, the Dash 8 or the Airbus A300 series. And it is quite reproduceable, I can fly the above route (EGJJ-EGPD) with any other aircraft and I have no problem. Try it with the Dash 8 and I get the Cache Directory Error.Anyone else had similar problems or know of a solution,Any help appreciated.Geoff
