XP Disk CLean Up

Recommended Posts

Guest

I followed one of the XP optimization guides and cleaned up my HD, choosing compress old files option.I noticed that some of the files in FS 2002 are now compressed (e.g. mesh and scenery not used in long time).I flew those areas and everything is running well, no delays. But do any of you think I may have porked things in the flightsim department with that disk cleanup option? If so, anyway to undo it?Thanks

My kids think I'm mad because I am always "maintaining" my computer. I do use this disk cleanup facility as well as defragmenting on a very regular basis. I have to say that on my system I have not experienced any problems at all and I know that alot of stuff is compressed as I have set the clean up to all files not used in about 21 days.Colin

Excellent--thanks for the info. I actually think FS is running smoother after the optimization, but that may be a placebo effect. Time to stop tweaking and start flying (yeah right!)
