Using FS2002 Pro A/C in FS2002 basic

Recommended Posts

I have tried downloading a couple of aircraft designed for FS2002 Pro, but I "only" have the basic FS2002 program. The aircraft externals are all there, as are the sounds, but the COCKPITS don't show up. Examples: Shigeru Tanaka's Beagle Bassets, Dave Garwood's Avro Lancaster. Is there a LEGAL way of obtaining whatever is missing, (without upgrading to FS2002 Pro ;-)? Any freeware/shareware tools or add-ons out there that would permit one to take advantage of the excellent work of designers who assume everybody's got FS2002 Pro?

I believe (though I might be mistaken), that some of the Pro version gauges from FS2000 are available in the FS2000 patch from the MS site. As such, you can LEGALLY d/l and run the patch for FS2000 and gain some of the Pro gauges that way. If I recall correctly, the Mooney and King Air gauges are available in FS2000 patch 2b.
