Need Phantom Sounds

Featured Replies

Can anybody suggest an acceptable set of sounds for an F4 Phantom? I've not had much luck searching for them directly, and I really don't want to alias another one of my fighters for the sounds.ThanksScott

Hi Scott,I've got mine aliased to the Charles Fox 727 package. May not be precisely the correct engine, but it's good, old-fashioned jet noise. All you purists flame away.Todd

Hi,Since the U.S. made F-4's (the British F-4K etc. had RR Spey engines, which gave more noise, but less performance) used the GE J-79 engine, I would use the sound of the F-104, which also used the J-79. Look for lf104snd.zipHope this helps.

If I remember correctly, the F4 and the F104 didn't sound too much alike. The 104's had more of a whine while the F4's just roared and overwhelmed you. 2 J79's are a lot more overpowering than just one. The F-14 is more a contemporary of the F4 so you might try a good sound package from it.Bill
