OK, so I now know that the CH toe brakes and the CH yoke button brake can not be used at the same time. So I want to use the button brake rather then the toe brakes. Go into the control assignments dialog, select the joystick axis tab, select the CH pedals from the drop down menu, find the left brake and right brake entries and delete the assignments.
