Hello all, any tips for landing the chopper on the aircraft carrier? I'm having a devil of a time. I can control the chopper really well when my throttle's up, but when I reach lower altitudes with the throttle low approaching a landing, it gets very difficult to hold her straight and/or not spin, while trying to match the forward momentum of the carrier.Sometimes I wind up compensating by coming down too fast, and I crash. Is there an auto-stabilize function or something to allow me to just concentrate on the vertical without wobbling?I fly in VC not slew mode which is still fine for visibility as I have TrackIR (so seeing/tracking the carrier's not the issue).Thanks!

What are you using for a controller? Hopefully at least a controller with a twist rudder grip.I find a pretty good practice as I am coming down on approach to 'tweak' the throttle to keep above a glide slope, if you can picture one.I also think you may benefit from keeping one consistent eye view (as opposed to looking around) when coming down so you know what things should look like.Have you completed all the heli tutorials?http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...s/Goodale01.jpg

yeah, I'm using a Cyborg Evo with a twist rudder. I think you might have a good point with the viewpoint; for every other combat flight sim, I've disabled the '6 DOF' axises on the track IR because it makes precision aiming of the guns difficult with your head displacing in 3d space; so far in FSX the planes are much less twitchy and hasn't been a problem..and it's been really nice to 'lean' over and look out the windows. With the chopper however, it is a whole lot pickier when it's imperative to know your exact orientation with the ground, and since track IR magnifies every head angle, it might benefit me to switch it off at the moment of landing. Good idea!
