November 9, 200619 yr Hello all,Sorry I'm late to the party, but I've been concentrating on a scenery project...I've taken a glance or two at the Mission SDK, but the info I'm seeking hasn't jumped out and bit me yet.Assuming I start with a properly designed and exported gMax model, is it possible to use attachpoints to realistically simulate aircraft with "hardpoints", specifically something like a MER (Multiple Ejector Rack)? This would involve specifying, on each MER, 6 "stations" that would each hold 1 Mk-82 class weapon. The stations from which the bombs are dropped should be in a particular, repeatable order...not at random. When I play the Flour Power mission, it seems that the flour bombs appear only after released, and they seem to appear near the origin of the trike model. For my purposes, it's important that each weapon be visible even before its released. In other words, you need to be able to see it hanging from your wing the whole time.Any help is appreciated. Thanks!Nick
November 13, 200619 yr Ok, I know some of you don't like the idea of bombs in flight sim, so let me revise my question:If I had a C-130 full of humanitarian supplies for starving children, would it be possible to make each pallet visible in the interior of the aircraft before its dropped? Specifically, can I have several pallets, each in their own respective spot?Nick
November 14, 200619 yr Nick:It seems to me that to make your payload visable, you would have to modify the model file for the aircraft. I do not think the Missions system is capable of "attaching" visable objects to the aircraft models. I may be mistaken.I have no problem with bombs...there is an excellent video tutorial on FSXMissions.com on doing so! ;)Good luck!
November 15, 200619 yr Hi,Thanks for the response. Yes, my intent is to use "attach points" to sling weapons on a new model I'm creating in 3ds Max.It's a B-52H, and it has a rather complicated bomb suspension system utilizing clip-in racks, adapters, pylons, MER's, etc...and my concern is being able to have the bombs display and release from the correct stations.I'll be sure to check the site you mentioned. Thanks again.Regards,Nick
