helicopter lift practice mission

Featured Replies

Any of the mission design gurus interested in creating a mission that would allow us helicopter enthusiasts to practice lifts without worrying about the instructor ending the mission when we damage the object we are lifting? A bunch of differing objects to lift with a bunch of places to put them. No real objective or reward. Just looking for a way to practice lifting with the helicopter. Thanks for your consideration.

BR,You may not realize it, but the Slingload Tutorial in Acceleration is a mission designed somewhat in this way.You can continue to practice, even if you fail the mission by damaging or destroying a load. Just close the "Mission Failed" window by clicking the X. Then, you can keep flying and practicing. Some missions in Acceleration will automatically stop and restart when you fail them, however Slingload Tutorial is not one of them. There are a couple of caveats you should keep in mind:1) You will not get any further positioning hints (such as "move right," "move forward.") In point of fact, you only get those hints when near the crates, and the 18-wheeled flatbed truck.2) If you break your slingload cable, you will not be able to pick up any remaining items, but you can still use the retractable hoist to pick up people.3) Without giving away too much, I'll tell you that you can have some fun with at least one of the loads by intentionally destroying it. :)Cheers,Kevin
