What is the best descent rate for the closer airport?Thanks

When I flew the mission I went for the one farther away, maintaining optimal descent rate until I had the runway in sight. Maintaining altitude as long as possible leaves you with the most maneuvering options since you can always use spoilers and flaps to lose altitude. Gaining altitude without engines is a tricker proposition...
