October 27, 200619 yr Hi,does anyone know if there is a way of making the wet runways work in FS9.1, I didn't start this thread to be shouted at, but I must admit that I would like to see these textures in FS9, as it's about the only thing I have really been miffed about not having.I know that someone else has managed to get some of the other textures from FSX to work in FS9,Thanks for any suggestions,
October 27, 200619 yr You won't be able to see wet runways in FS9. The reason being, code has to be written to tell FS9 that the runways would be "wet". There is code to make the runways "snowy" in FS9. If you go into weather settings and set up snowfall, after several moments the runway will take on a snowy/icy appearance. Sometimes just for the "humor", I will set up snow in Phoenix and snapshot the snowy landscape and icy runways.Sorry to say, "wet" runways never received the same type of treatment in FS9 and prior versions. Therefore, the textures that display when there's no rain will also display when it rains. Good question though...Regards,John
October 27, 200619 yr If you download Real Environment Pro from Avsim Library, you can configure the sim to show wet runways.CheersBC

October 28, 200619 yr Hi John,All the time as FS04 has no way of reloading those textures "on the fly", except cirrus of course.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 28, 200619 yr The wet runways aren't merely textures, they are bumpmapped, thus involving the ligthting engine of the game, and basically letting the ground reflect light. Fs9 lacks the technology to do that.-
