March 1, 200323 yr ProjectAI and Irish Flight Sim design group join hands in a Dublin Airport scenery release. PAI has especially built the Air Lingus Auto-Installer for IFSD's scenery release. The Irish Flight Sim Design is a team of scenery designers who have worked together to encrust the barren default scenery of Ireland with Airports, buildings, cities, landmarks and terrain.IFSD was inspired by the work of the Netherlands 2000 project, the goal of IFSD is to produce realistic scenery for the entire of Ireland using the principle of having many designers each concentrating on a small portion (rather than fewer designers covering a wider area). Wherever possible IFSD utilises the local skills of scenery designers who are familiar with the intricate and authentic details of their own area.IFSD first full release covers airports at Dublin, Galway and Cork; as well as smaller airports and airstrips at Waterford, Kilkenny, Coonagh etc. They also cover scenery for the capital city of Dublin, landclass scenery generated from satellite for Howth peninsula and many more other features. The scenery is developed using the latest design tools such as Gmax and FSDS2 and design techniques and optimisations to ensure as good frame rates as possible. All the latest visual effects have been employed such as animations, reflective textures, lighting and smoke effects and much more. The Irish Flight Sim Design Group's website is http://www.ifsd.ie and contains a forum, news and previews of forthcoming releases.
