Sound problems in FS2K-FS9

Featured Replies

This really bugs me.I play with headphones mostly and when I look left or right sometimes the sound is in the wrong ear. e.g I look left, but the sound is in my right ear.It depends on the aircraft, so it can't be my wiring. Is it possible to fix this?Maybe edit a config file, or a wave file?

I will double check when I get home this afternoon but I think this is the correct default behavior especially for single engine aircraft. If you are sitting in an aircraft with the engine running and you turn your head to the left the most intense sound would then be in your right ear since that would be the ear facing the engine.Hope this helps,Steve

Thanks for the reply.I understand your reasoning (and I'm sure you are spot on!).But I just think it's a little overdone. It is so sudden and abrupt that it almost makes my ears pop!I guess I could always use mono sound.

I double checked and indeed this is the default behavior for any aircraft that is a single engine with the engine mounted on the front of the aircraft. If it is a multi engine aircraft or the engine is located elsewhere then the sound will increase in the direction you turn your head (pretty neat feature). You also could go into your FS9 setup and move the engine sound sliders a bit to see if that helps.Steve
