Flashing runways!

Featured Replies

Hi, Guys I know it's been asked before.Could anyone tell me what causes that.Bad driver?settings?Tried just about everything i can think of,short of re-installing drivers. Thanks, Steve

Hi, Steve. There is an "apron fix" file which fixes some of the graphic glitches at airports. I tried that when I had a Geforce ti-200, but it didn't do anything for the runways. I went through many, many driver versions and the problem persisted in each. After a while, I kind of resigned myself to the fact that this was just an inherent flaw in fs2002 (Flight Unlimited III had something similiar). However, I upgraded to a Radeon 9500 Pro not that long ago, and the problem went away. I haven't seen a flashing runway since. Probably not much help for you, I am afraid, but I just thought I would relate my experience.

Incorrect altitude data. Some runways are placed just a fraction of an inch belowground causing the groundtextures to shimmer through them from some angles.

I'll throw in the fact that it doesn't happen in full screen and that it happens iat more than one airport. Last night i went through the taxiway and crashed a few times in cyeg. all this is a new problem and i haven't installed any scenery. Appreciate any feedback, Steve
