FS2004 visibility / weather

Featured Replies

Hi there,we all know, FS2002 had a problem in non-US-countries: Outside the US the visibility is always "unlimited".Has anybody information if this bug will be corrected in FS2004 ?Bodo

I don't think that's the case...I recently flew thru Russia and China then into Pakistan, and had weather all the way, clouds, winds etc. Used real world FS weather...Sometimes doing a "clear all weather" before loading the real wx helps too.Dave

I have no idea what you are talking about. I've been flying FS2002 in areas outside the US for 18 months now and have never experienced the symptoms you are going on about. As far as fixing this bug up, there is no bug to fix.

Hi,are you flying with Microsofts online-weather (Jeppesen-Weatherserver) or do you use fsmeteo or similar? If you use the builtin weather downloads from the jeppesen weather server, fs2002 interprets all visibility data as miles. in europe, visibility is given in meters. so, if you have for example in frankfurt 5000 (meters) visibility, fs2002 interpretes this data as 5000 miles (and that means unlimited). That is the bug i am talking about.CiaoBodo

When using the in-built Jepperson I do not experience any problems. I have only ever used one add-on weather program (Wetter) and do not experience visibility problems with that either.
