could you check whether TP could work with a sim named "Flightgear"?(http://www.flightgear.org/Gallery-v0.9.10/) They claim they support photoreal sceneries but of course the question is: *could* the server thing might work in their, open-source, environment. The way I see things going, exploiting the full potential of TP, and of others good ideas, will have to happen outside of MS, who appears to be heading full-steam toward the gaming market and at an angle from the simulation hobby. Since such angle is prudently narrow the distance between the 2 is not that great yet and FSX is, of course, right in the middle, but as time goes by... TP is a step forward for the flight simulation as a whole, not an "add-on" for FSX.

Tileproxy is VERY specifically crafted to support FSX (potentially FS9) through an extremely awkward and inefficient interface. To do the same with FlightGear, or other simulators, a partial rewrite of the code may be required. At least half of the code of TileProxy would have to be replaced entirely.I don't feel like I am the one who wants to do this ;)
