May 25, 200719 yr could you check whether TP could work with a sim named "Flightgear"?(http://www.flightgear.org/Gallery-v0.9.10/) They claim they support photoreal sceneries but of course the question is: *could* the server thing might work in their, open-source, environment. The way I see things going, exploiting the full potential of TP, and of others good ideas, will have to happen outside of MS, who appears to be heading full-steam toward the gaming market and at an angle from the simulation hobby. Since such angle is prudently narrow the distance between the 2 is not that great yet and FSX is, of course, right in the middle, but as time goes by... TP is a step forward for the flight simulation as a whole, not an "add-on" for FSX.
May 25, 200719 yr Tileproxy is VERY specifically crafted to support FSX (potentially FS9) through an extremely awkward and inefficient interface. To do the same with FlightGear, or other simulators, a partial rewrite of the code may be required. At least half of the code of TileProxy would have to be replaced entirely.I don't feel like I am the one who wants to do this ;)
