Tileproxy and Compatibility with Acceleration / SP2

Featured Replies

Just a quick announcement that FSX SP2/Acceleration works well with Tileproxy.I wasn't able to detect any noteable performance gains over SP1 though. For some users the RTM version may still provide the best performance.

Hi ChristianI unfortunately have to admit I am very disappointed with my new Quad 6600 based PC in terms of TP tiles sharpness (though high Tps rate); my old P4 gave much more crispy results but I can't use it anymore. Is there any good hope for TileProxy to work fine on a Quad 6600 machine (I know you now run one) with the final beta 6 and FS-SP2, or even without SP2?Thanks for doing all that good job!JpPeretti

Hello Christian,Just to clarify, are you defining "performance gains over SP1" as decreased blurries, or increased FPS?I was hoping you meant that with SP2, FPS were no better, but the blurry texture issue had been resolved. I may be reading something into your post. Thanks, Steve

Hello Christian,Any chance of SP2 resolving issues created by SP1 whereby some machines do not update scenery correctly while flying?Rob Loney

I don't think much in the FS 2002/2004 compatibility BGL/BMP photoscenery code has changed. So I could not notice any difference.

Do you think your B6 version will be finished soon ?

Yes, soon. I am working on the installer whenever I have spare time. It now has a nice startup logo and allows you to specify terrain cache paths separately. Also I am including the graphical cache browser in the distribution.

Well good !I am in the starting blocks , ready to go !
