The light variations are pretty good over Switzerland.

Have you tried the flight simulator mode in GE? I must say it is pretty good. The phototextures in flight sim mode seem even sharper than when in normal viewing mode. I just flew around San Francisco and was amazed. It is a decent flight sim but no sound or plane image. Still, with the phototextures it is a great experience.
