FS2000 Patch Problem!

Featured Replies

Greetings, I recently purchased FS2000 from the "bargain bin" at my local software store (FS2000 std version), after installing I downloaded the appropriate patch from microsoft. After installing the patch I keep getting an error in module Dplayerx.dll and the sim won't start. I have tried several times with both the std and pro patches with the same result. Can anybody help please? Thanks. RPM.

There was a pro patch, and a standard patch.... Are you sure you didn't install the pro patch?Only other thing I can suggest is you delete FS2000 and reinstall. Then, copy the modules folder as modules.bak, and run the patch. If the patch won't run, you can restore the old modules folder and see what happens. If it runs, then perhaps the patch doesn't agree with something in your setup. What are your system specs, anyway?

Actually, I have tried removing and re-installing FS2000 a couple of times. I have tried applying both patches with the same result. The patch seems to run fine. But, when I go to run FS2000 I get the same error message about the Dplayerx.dll module. I haven't tried copying the modules folder, but I have tried copying the Dplayerx.dll file from the disk after the patch.... didn't work. System specs are PIII 700MHZ 512K PC100 RAM Gainward Ti4200 video card Abit BH6 MB. Thanks, RPM.

After reading your specs, give up on FS2000 and install FS2002....You'll get better performance (if you get your 2002 settings to match 2000's best settings), and with your graphics card, far better graphics.... Not to mention, many more of us to help you. I've long since removed FS2000 from my system, which is only 100MHZ faster than yours...
