FS2004

Recommended Posts

Hi All,Not that I am on the corner to watch if FS2004 is coming but I am very curious what MS will do on some nasty things in FS2002 that did anoying me very much.I am talking about the overall darkness on allmost every airport in FS2002.For some real frequently flyers among us I dont have to explain how well lit is a real airport!!!!You can allmost see a nickel lieingon the apron...Lighting up by the heavy lights thats surround me.I dont believe that there are no more flyers that are bother too by that unreal lightning which appears on most airports in FS2002.When I am on a rwy taxi to a gate or apron at night{in REAL} I can see clearly whats going on beside me looking to buildings and so on....SOOOOOh what we gonna do about it,developers of FS2004????Luminate EVERY airport in FS2004 like it use to be in real life.We do want it ....AS REAL AS IT GETS....DONT WE?????Thanks on advance...Bill..RegardsGeert

One thing you've got to understand (from a performance perspective) it would be extremely difficult to light up airports in FS as much as they are in real life, or have anywhere near the quality of lighting of real life airports. It is very taxing on a video card to render true-to-life lighting (even just a couple of these lights) let alone hundreds or perhaps thousands! We're probably still a few years away from the sheer cpu/gpu power it would take to do this. Maybe when 50GHz Pentium 8's and Radeon 875004000 Ultra Premium Pros with 20 gigs of ram on board come out we'll have a "true-to-life" flight sim. Until then, just remember where flight sim was only a few years ago and compare that to where we are now. Being happy with what you've got is one of the most important lessons to learn in life, one that most everyone in this world struggles with every day. If you can overcome that, I think you'll find your life will be much more fulfilling and you'll find joy in almost everything, instead of finding the faults in everythinghope this helps,Max Cowgill
