December 26, 200817 yr I've got ASA with FS9On the visibility screen, I've got all three boxes checked, and then minimum surface visibility set to 0, and the max surface visibility set to 50, and the Max Upper Visibility set to 100.Sight distance in Display/Weather is set to 100, Cloud draw set to 80, and 100 percent 3d clouds with max density of detailed clouds. What I EXPECT to get is no more than 50 NM until up in the flight levels and then get maybe 100 NM visibility from there. What I SEEM to get is 50 NM max everywhere. Am I misunderstanding something?
December 27, 200817 yr Hi Tim,Once in the air you should get 100sm if the METAR data supports it.A screen shot of the report screen and waht you are getting in FS will help. Thanks,

Since METARs generally "top out" at 10SM, how does ASA determine visibility above that?I'll look some more and see what happens.
