April 11, 200323 yr Does anyone know of a better Mooney Bravo flight model? The default tends to fly very touchy especially when rotating off the ground. I am trying to use it for instrument training and it is kind of defeating the purpose.ThanksWayland KramerComm, ASEL & AMEL; InstCFI, CFII, MEI
April 11, 200323 yr I don't know of one, but you can try this:In the aircraft.cfg, try increasing the pitch MOI.... I find most FS default aircraft have the MOI's set to about half of what an aircraft should "feel" like. In tandem with this, try increasing the pitch stability in the flight tuning section, in units of one.Last, the elevator effectiveness can be toned down in the tuning section, but I usually do this as a last resort.I tend to apply these tweaks out of "feel" for specific aircraft. Since one can't fly in every type of aircraft, much of it may deviate from what the aircraft should feel like. For all I know, a Mooney could be very touchy. But it's been my experience, as noted earlier, that most of the default aircraft have this issue.
