January 23, 200917 yr It may be a simple question to experts but how do you back up the fsx.exe file onlyI am using Vista 32 with SP1
January 23, 200917 yr Hi,Why would you want to back up just the .exe file?If you installed FS into the default path you are going to run into the Vista/Program Files security situation where you cannot modify those files. To get around this you should install FSX to a non-default path such as c:\FSX.Thanks,
January 26, 200917 yr Thanks Jim.Just wanted to enable "App can handle> 2gb addressset". in exe file to feed in more RAM via bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 3072 at the command prompt as an experiment to try to control CTD issues which I suffer after 2 hours of flying with ASA installed.Heard Microsoft has put a limit on how much RAM a program can access utilizing its (Vista) 32-Bit Operating Systems. The limit is 2GB, meaning that any program will utilize 2GB to operate, and if the program requires more RAM, it uses virtual memory as the next source and in time, slows down page files slows down operations.Apart from that, everythings running fantastic with all setting to max and I am OK for two hours max.
January 26, 200917 yr Hi,You don't need to copy any files for that, just edit your boot.ini file. Thanks,
