Most of the times your browser is affected (e.g. default startpage is changed, unwanted toolbars), but those programs can also install dial-up connections and other irritating and harmful things.Download Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/and let it scan your computer. It will detect all kinds of spyware, browserhacks, etc. Actually Ad-aware is a must-have for every pc-owner IMHO.I hope this helps.
