Interesting problem with trim wheel...

Featured Replies

I dont know if there's a connection, but Im exploring all possibilities.Sometimes, Ill start to go on a flight when I notice my trim wheel pegged all the way down (meaning pointers at top of markings). Ill try to wheel it down, but when I let go, it wheels back to full-down position. If I load a different flight, the problem goes away. Or if I reload the flight, it goes away.Is thee any connection here???Or any other sugestions??John WNewburgh, IN

I've noticed this too, especially when first using a third party aircraft. After I've made the adjustments it seems fine the next time I load it.Also, make sure the autopilot is disengaged before takeoff.

Thanks for the quick reply.Actually, Im using the default C-172.Also, Im using WidevieW and Radar Contact 3.01.Both work great....John

If you turn on the AP while on the ground, it will drive the elevator trim fully negative! :)BillAVSIM OmbudsmanFounder and Director,Creative Recycling of Aircraft Partshttp://mtco.com/~rsam/fartslogo.jpg

If you check the aircraft.cfg file under the Autopilot section make sure this has the lines:use_no_default_pitch=1 use_no_default_bank=1This doesn't always cure the problem but it seems to work for some aircraft.boneshttp://fsaviation.net
