Featured Replies

Hi allFollowing problem, if I fly in the MsFlightsim 2002 a chessna plane, the sounds crakcs very awfully, and if I pull the throtle off there is no sound anymore from the engine. I also reinstalled flightsim because before I had no sound at full speed, now at no speed. (with speed I mean the position of the throttel lever). My System:1 GHz AMD CPUATI Radeon 9700 Graphicscard624 MB RAMCreative SoundBlaster 1024 Live!Dx 9aIn the past the sound has worked fine but at the moment *argh* :(It don't know when the sound has become bad, it could be since i have dx9 installed.Looking foward to hear from you

Do you have a motherboard with a VIA chipset? The Soundblaster Live soundcards often have crackling problems in combination with VIA-chipsets due to a design flaw in the card. If sofar you've had no problems you were lucky. In many cases, the right combination of drivers can suppress these problems, but if you change one of them, the problems may appear. If you're using sound drivers from Creative, you could try uninstalling them and use the default Windows XP drivers. Sofar, they work best in my situation.Hope this'll help.Allard

There may be specific audio drivers from the company that makes your motherboard. I used to have the same situation... until I downloaded drivers from the manufacturers web site. I think that should do the trick for you.Or have you done this already?

yes I have an via motherboard, and I deinstalled creatves drivers, and installed the xp driver. Now it works fine again.thanxx very much!! :)But its still mystirous, every game and program worked, except MsFs.

I get crackles with the NForce2 sound when flying - I am not sure whats up have tried updateing the chipset drivers.

Hi Allard,While I promise I'm not going to run around the general forums soliciting entries into the FS Tips and Tricks forum, this particular problem you answered is a long standing one for FS users. Perhaps you can provide your excellent solution to the Tips and Tricks forum at the top of this one to help other VIA+SB Live users of this problem?Take care,Elrond ---Not enough bandwidth to display this signature!
